In the Presence of University Leaders: A Specialized Seminar at the College of Engineering on Digital Transformation Challenges
The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, organized a specialized scientific seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Society,” presented by Dr. Oras Fadhil Khalaf.
The presenter investigated the features of the modern technical leap and its comprehensive reflections on vital aspects of life, such as education, health, and the economy, demonstrating how these tools have contributed to enhancing performance efficiency and the quality of daily services.
The presentation did not overlook the controversial aspects of this development; the seminar witnessed in-depth discussions on privacy dilemmas, digital bias, and the future of the labor market in light of expanding automation, emphasizing the need to formulate strict ethical and regulatory frameworks to ensure the responsible and balanced employment of these technologies.
The seminar, which enjoyed a notable attendance led by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Director of the University Psychological Counseling Division, the Director of the Quality Assurance Department, the Director of the Computer Center, and a group of esteemed academics and students, concluded with an urgent call to enhance community awareness and activate the role of educational institutions in qualifying individuals to deal with artificial intelligence with a consciousness that preserves human values and optimally invests in available opportunities.
