International Scientific Achievement: Faculty Member at the College of Engineering Publishes Six Scientific Chapters in a Global Book Issued by the German Publisher (Wiley)
Professor Dr. Riyadh Azzawi Badr, a faculty member in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Samarra, has published six rigorous scientific chapters within a specialized international book titled (Nanostructured Hard Materials: Industrial Applications), published in 2026 by the prestigious German publishing house (John Wiley & Sons) in collaboration with (Scrivener Publishing).
This achievement was accomplished in collaboration with Professor Dr. Yarub Qahtan Al-Douri from Al-Bayan University; as the published chapters focused on the applications of nanocomposite materials in the aviation and defense sectors, along with a precise analysis of the properties of cermet materials and their vital uses in cutting tools and electrical contacts.
On the technical level, the scientific output expanded into presenting machining techniques based on hard materials and the deposition of industrial coatings, highlighting the fundamental role of metal carbides in enhancing wear resistance and providing innovative insights for developing high-speed cutting tools through advanced nanocoating techniques.
In this regard, the Deanship of the College of Engineering, represented by its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, congratulates the faculty member on this research excellence that strengthens the international standing of the University of Samarra, emphasizing that publishing with (Wiley) embodies the rigor of the Iraqi researcher and their ability to keep pace with technological developments and link academic research to modern industrial applications.
