Ministerial Committee Evaluates Scientific and Academic Reality at College of Engineering

The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, received in his office the ministerial committee specialized in evaluating the scientific and academic reality for the academic year 2025-2026, headed by Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Adnan Al-Mashhadani. This visit comes within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research\’s plan to follow up on the efficiency of institutional and program performance in Iraqi engineering colleges, and to assess the level of scientific performance and the institution\’s infrastructure.
The ministerial committee was accompanied on an extensive field tour by the vice deans, heads of scientific departments, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Abdullah Hassan (member of the ministerial committee), and the head of the Quality Assurance Division.
The tour included the scientific departments, specialized laboratories, and classrooms, where the committee directly inspected the available infrastructure and equipment, and the extent to which they keep pace with modern curricula and continuous technological development.
In a related context, the committee held an expanded meeting dedicated to auditing administrative and scientific documents and files, and reviewing the comprehensive documentation packages prepared by the Quality Assurance Division. The evaluation process focused on the relevance of the curricula to labor market requirements and international standards, such as ABET standards, in addition to reviewing scientific research published in international repositories and the self-evaluation systems applied.
At the conclusion of the visit, the ministerial committee expressed its deep appreciation for the diligent efforts exerted by the college deanship and all its staff, praising the high level of organization and strict commitment to quality requirements that contribute effectively to enhancing and developing the rigor of engineering education.
