Towards Robust Academic Integration: Signing a Cooperation Mechanism Between Samarra Engineering and Al-Nahrain Engineering
The College of Engineering at Samarra University concluded a joint scientific and academic cooperation mechanism with the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University on Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026. Samarra University was represented by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, while Al-Nahrain University was represented by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ayad Murad Takhakh.
This agreement embodies the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to unify scientific efforts and exchange expertise and resources. The signed minutes aim to develop educational and research processes and serve the community through the exchange of academic expertise and the updating of curricula to align with labor market requirements. Furthermore, it seeks to support innovation and joint applied projects between faculty members and students at both universities.
The terms of cooperation included activating joint supervision of Master’s theses and Doctoral dissertations, forming research teams to implement strategic projects and publish them in international repositories, as well as providing mutual access to laboratories, technical equipment, and digital resources. It also involves organizing specialized workshops and seminars that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of engineering outputs.
On the sidelines of the signing, the delegation conducted a field tour that included the departments of Architectural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, as well as the scientific laboratories of the Civil and Chemical Engineering departments and the Prosthetics Department. Both parties emphasized that this partnership opens broad horizons for developing scientific projects and elevating academic performance to serve the educational journey in Iraq.
