Art Exhibition at the College of Islamic Sciences Reflects the Convergence of Academic Creativity and Sustainability Concepts

As part of supporting cultural activities and promoting meaningful arts within the university environment, Dr. Janan Shakir Ali, a faculty member in the Department of Sharia at the College of Islamic Sciences, inaugurated a distinguished art exhibition in the college corridors. The event was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hassan Ahmed Al-Jubouri, and with the participation of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yasser Adnan Hassan.

The exhibition featured a collection of artworks reflecting a creative vision that combines aesthetic value with intellectual and awareness messages. The displayed paintings varied between themes inspired by nature and others addressing sustainability concepts and environmental awareness, aligning with the university’s direction in supporting Sustainability Week activities.

The exhibition also included a live painting session showcasing the artist’s technical skills, along with a diversity of techniques and materials such as charcoal, oil paints, and acrylics, highlighting the richness of artistic expression.

Additionally, the exhibition presented a short story authored by Dr. Janan Shakir Ali, conveying humanistic and educational themes that addressed sustainability from a cultural and societal perspective, blending visual art and literature as tools for awareness and value-building.
