Department of Creed Discusses a PhD Dissertation by Researcher Nabaa Raad Abdulrahim

The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, discussed a PhD dissertation submitted by the researcher Nabaa Raad Abdulrahim, entitled: “Clothing Hadiths in Light of the Prophetic Sunnah – An Analytical Study.”

The dissertation aimed to demonstrate the importance of the Prophetic Sunnah in regulating the daily life of Muslims, particularly with regard to the etiquette and rulings of clothing. This was achieved through collecting the hadiths related to this topic, analyzing them, and clarifying their jurisprudential and educational implications.

The significance of the study lies in its focus on an important aspect of the Prophetic guidance that directly affects daily human life. It also derives legal rulings and Islamic etiquettes related to clothing, while highlighting associated moral values such as modesty, moderation, and adherence to Sharia guidelines.

The choice of the topic stems from the need to connect hadith texts with contemporary reality, and to clarify the methodology of the Prophetic Sunnah in regulating a Muslim’s appearance in a way that balances lawful adornment with religious commitment. It also addresses the scarcity of comprehensive analytical studies on clothing-related hadiths.

The study resulted in the collection and classification of a large number of hadiths related to clothing, analyzing them in terms of authenticity and meaning, and clarifying the derived rulings and etiquettes. This contributes to enriching the Islamic library and promoting a correct understanding of the Prophetic Sunnah in this field.
