Department of Creed Organizes a Scientific Course on Manuscript Editing and Preservation
As part of its scientific plan aimed at developing research skills and promoting interest in Islamic heritage, the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, organized a scientific course entitled “Manuscript Editing and Preservation.” The course was held over two days in one of the college’s lecture halls.
The lectures were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shakir Mahmoud Ahmed, Assistant Lecturer Bakr Imad Mohammed, and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohammed Tu‘mah.
The course discussed the science of manuscript editing and its importance in preserving Islamic heritage. It also explained the scholarly foundations and methodologies used in editing manuscript texts, in addition to introducing the most important modern methods and techniques employed in the preservation and protection of manuscripts from deterioration and damage. These efforts contribute to safeguarding the scientific and cultural legacy of the Muslim nation.
This course reflects the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought’s commitment to developing the scientific and research capabilities of researchers and students, while fostering greater interest in preserving and revitalizing the scholarly heritage through sound academic methodology.
