Department of Sharia Organizes a Scientific Course on Jurisprudential Rulings for Contemporary Issues

The Department of Sharia at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a two-day scientific course entitled “Jurisprudential Rulings for Contemporary Issues” in one of the college halls, with the participation of a number of the department’s faculty members: Dr. Iman Abd Nusaif, Assistant Lecturer Abdulrahim Khalid Hassan, and Assistant Lecturer Israa Bahaa Fadhil.

The course aimed to shed light on the concept of contemporary issues and their importance in Islamic jurisprudence, as well as to clarify the Sharia guidelines and jurisprudential principles adopted by scholars in deriving Islamic rulings for emerging matters. This approach keeps pace with developments in contemporary life while preserving the constants of Islamic Sharia.

The course addressed a number of jurisprudential applications in the medical, economic, social, and technological fields, while reviewing the most prominent opinions of jurists and the decisions of jurisprudential councils regarding them. It also discussed the methodology of jurisprudential reasoning in dealing with newly emerging issues and the importance of observing the objectives of Sharia when issuing rulings that serve the interests of society.

The course witnessed scientific interaction from the participants through contributions and discussions that enriched the topic and enhanced jurisprudential awareness of contemporary developments. It concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold specialized scientific courses and events that connect the authenticity of jurisprudential heritage with the requirements of reality, contributing to the development of scientific research and community service.
