Faculty Member from the College of Islamic Sciences Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at the University of Samarra
Assistant Professor Dr. Ihab Abdullah Abdul Razzaq, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, participated in the defense committee of a Master’s thesis entitled “The Role of the Prophetic Sunnah in Social Reform – An Objective Study,” held in the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra. The thesis was submitted by the student Abbas Salim Majeed.
The thesis examined the central role of the Prophetic Sunnah in achieving social reform by highlighting the practical models it provides, which can be applied across different times and circumstances. The researcher adopted an inductive-analytical methodology to collect, verify, and analyze Prophetic traditions and explore their educational and social implications.
The study findings revealed that the Prophetic approach to reform is characterized by comprehensiveness and realism through linking spiritual reform with social organization. It also confirmed that Islamic brotherhood represents a practical commitment that includes mutual social and humanitarian responsibilities.
Furthermore, the study demonstrated the importance of the Prophetic Sunnah in addressing tribalism and pre-Islamic tendencies while promoting the values of piety and righteous deeds as alternatives to pride based on lineage and social status.
This participation reflects the active scholarly role of faculty members at the College of Islamic Sciences and their contribution to the discussion of academic research and studies that serve Islamic knowledge and strengthen societal values.
