Islamic Sciences Promote Sustainability Culture Through a Tree-Planting Campaign During Sustainable Energy Week

As part of the activities of Sustainable Energy Week, the Department of Islamic Finance and Banking at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, organized a voluntary tree-planting campaign with active participation from faculty members and students, reflecting the college’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives and promoting sustainable development concepts.

The campaign included planting more than 75 evergreen trees in the college gardens, aiming to expand green spaces, improve the university environment, and strengthen environmental awareness among students as part of the social responsibility of academic institutions.

Participants emphasized that this initiative aligns with university directions to spread sustainability culture and preserve natural resources, in addition to utilizing field activities to build student awareness that promotes positive environmental behavior.

The event witnessed wide participation from students, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and belonging, and their commitment to contributing to initiatives that serve the campus and support environmental and developmental goals.
