Rhetorical Miracle in Qur’anic Verse Endings: A Scientific Course Highlights the Aesthetics of Qur’anic Structure
The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, organized a specialized scientific course titled “The Rhetorical Miracle in Qur’anic Verse Endings,” as part of a series of academic activities aimed at promoting research in Qur’anic and linguistic studies.
The course aimed to explain the aspects of rhetorical inimitability in Qur’anic verse endings and uncover the secrets of phonetic and semantic harmony in the endings of Qur’anic verses, as well as the profound rhetorical meanings they carry in demonstrating the miraculous nature and unique style of the Holy Qur’an. The course also addressed the concept of the Qur’anic verse ending, its types, its relationship to the general context of the verse, and its role in achieving harmony between meaning and structure.
The course was attended by a number of faculty members and students who actively engaged with its topics through scholarly discussions and interventions that enriched the sessions, emphasizing the importance of such studies in deepening rhetorical understanding of the Qur’anic text.
At the conclusion of the course, participants recommended increasing such academic activities concerned with aspects of Qur’anic inimitability because of their role in strengthening Qur’anic knowledge and developing students’ research skills.
