Scientific Course at the College of Islamic Sciences Discusses Digital Transformation in Islamic Studies and Its Contemporary Prospects

The College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific course entitled “Digital Transformation in Islamic Studies,” which explored the concept of digital transformation and its impact on the development of scientific research and the service of Islamic sciences. The course highlighted the importance of employing modern technologies in preserving, editing, and disseminating Islamic heritage in a manner that keeps pace with rapid technological developments.

The course addressed the most prominent digital tools used in Islamic studies, including electronic libraries, scientific databases, and software applications for research in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. It also discussed artificial intelligence applications and their role in analyzing Islamic texts and facilitating access to specialized information and knowledge.

Furthermore, the course explained the valuable opportunities provided by digital transformation for researchers, including rapid access to scientific sources, enhanced accuracy in research and investigation processes, strengthened opportunities for academic collaboration through digital platforms, and broader, more effective dissemination of Islamic knowledge.

The course also discussed several challenges associated with digital transformation, most notably the need to verify the reliability of information circulated through digital media, protect intellectual property rights, and ensure the responsible use of modern technologies in support of scientific and academic objectives.

At the conclusion of the course, participants emphasized that digital transformation has become an essential necessity in contemporary Islamic studies and that maximizing its benefits requires combining sound Islamic scholarship with advanced technological competence, thereby contributing to the development of scientific research and the service of Islam and its sciences in accordance with contemporary needs and developments.
