Scientific Course at the College of Islamic Sciences to Enhance Administrative Correspondence Skills

The Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific course entitled “Mechanisms of Administrative Correspondence,” presented by Dr. Nihad Najm Abdullah, Assistant Lecturer Uday Ali Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Hudhaifa Saad Ibrahim.

The course aimed to explain the approved mechanisms for preparing and organizing administrative correspondence and official communications among administrative divisions and units. It also introduced the administrative hierarchy involved in processing transactions and clarified the principles of proper official drafting from both linguistic and administrative perspectives. In addition, the course addressed procedures for handling incoming and outgoing mail, as well as methods of filing and archiving documents.

The course targeted directors of administrative divisions and units, along with their staff members, with the objective of enhancing their competence in managing official correspondence in accordance with approved administrative regulations.

The course concluded with several outcomes, most notably strengthening participants’ understanding of official procedures related to preparing and circulating administrative mail, determining administrative responsibilities, and applying proper methods for preserving, sending, and responding to correspondence. It also introduced traditional and electronic methods for disseminating circulars and recommendations.

Furthermore, the course covered the authorities of authorized signatories, mechanisms for organizing correspondence templates related to administrative formations, and the major challenges facing administrative communication procedures, while proposing solutions aimed at improving administrative performance and enhancing institutional efficiency.
