Scientific Course Highlights the Role of Religious Discourse in Promoting Peaceful Coexistence

Under the patronage of the Deanship of the College of Islamic Sciences, the Human Rights Unit at University of Samarra organized a scientific course titled “The Role of Religious Discourse in Promoting Peaceful Coexistence.” The event was attended by a number of professors, researchers, and students, as part of academic activities aimed at reinforcing the values of moderation and openness in society.

The course addressed several key themes, most notably the concept of religious discourse and its impact on guiding social behavior, as well as its role in spreading a culture of tolerance and rejecting extremism. It also highlighted the importance of renewing religious discourse in a way that aligns with contemporary demands while preserving established Islamic principles.

The lectures emphasized the necessity for religious discourse to serve as a means of building bridges of communication among different segments of society, fostering peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect and acceptance of others. This approach is grounded in the teachings of Islamic Sharia and the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in promoting values of mercy and justice.

At the conclusion of the course, participants recommended intensifying such academic activities due to their significant role in enhancing societal awareness and preparing a conscious generation capable of addressing intellectual challenges and promoting the values of social peace.
