Students of the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought Participate in the Iraqi Universities Debate Championship

Students of the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Samarra, participated in the National University Debating Competition (Debate World Cup) in its third edition. The qualifying rounds were held online on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with wide participation from Iraqi universities.

The department’s students delivered a distinguished performance in two debate rounds against Al-Mustansiriyah University and Al-Mustaqbal University, demonstrating a strong academic and dialogical level that reflects their skills in critical thinking, constructing scientific arguments, and managing academic discussion.

This participation comes as part of the college’s support for student scientific activities that contribute to refining students’ personalities and developing their abilities in dialogue and debate, as well as enhancing the university’s presence in national academic forums, in line with the university’s vision of supporting student talents and developing their intellectual and cognitive skills.
