Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra, the Head of the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Khalid Jihad, presented an awareness poster titled “Towards a Green Future… Sustainability is Everyone’s Responsibility,” as part of scientific and awareness activities aimed at promoting sustainability culture and strengthening environmental awareness among students and the university community.
The poster addressed the concept of sustainability as one of the most important contemporary concepts that seek to achieve a balance between economic development, environmental protection, and social justice, ensuring the fulfillment of present needs without compromising the rights of future generations.
The poster emphasized that the importance of sustainability lies in preserving natural resources, reducing environmental pollution, and promoting positive behaviors that contribute to building a healthy and safe environment, as well as supporting continuous development and improving quality of life.
It also outlined several objectives, including spreading environmental awareness, encouraging tree planting and expanding green spaces, rationalizing water and energy consumption, promoting recycling and waste reduction, and supporting youth and community initiatives aimed at achieving sustainability.
The activity concluded with an awareness message: “Together we create a better environment and preserve our resources to give future generations a brighter and more stable future,” and carried the slogan: “Start with a step today… so the Earth can live tomorrow,” emphasizing the importance of both individual and collective participation in protecting the environment and building a sustainable future.
