The study was conducted in response to a request from the directorate to nominate a research team from the college to carry out a “study on the physiology of sports training to address the issue of low physical fitness levels among athletes in the forums affiliated with the Salah al-Din Directorate of Youth and Sports.” This issue negatively affects public health and has broader health implications within the community.

The College of Physical Education nominated a research team consisting of Professor Dr. Mohammed Saleh Khalil, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Alwan Shukr, Dr. Saif Rasheed Ghanem, and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Faisal Mahdi. They were assigned to prepare a study entitled “The Effectiveness of Aerobic Exercises in Improving Health-Related Fitness Indicators among Physical Activity Participants in the Forums.”

The importance of the study lies in enhancing health-related fitness indicators, promoting the role of physical activity as a therapeutic approach for psychological well-being, improving body image among practitioners, and achieving mental and physical health through rhythmic bodyweight exercises. This approach aims to address the core issue identified by the researchers prior to beginning their experimental work.

In appreciation, the Salah al-Din Directorate of Youth and Sports presented the research team with a certificate of thanks and recognition as a token of gratitude for the community service provided by the college and in acknowledgment of the benefits reaped by physical activity practitioners in their forums from this study.
