The Council of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Holds Its Fourteenth Regular Session and Approves a Number of Academic and Administrative Decisions
The Council of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Samarra held its fourteenth regular session, chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Saad Abbas Abd, and attended by the Council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic and administrative matters included on the agenda and adopted decisions aimed at supporting the College’s academic and research mission.
During the session, the Council approved the awarding of the Master’s degree to a number of postgraduate students after they had successfully fulfilled all academic and scientific requirements. The Council also approved research period extensions for several Master’s students, enabling them to complete their theses in accordance with the approved academic standards.
The Council further ratified the formation of several thesis defense committees, approved the nomination of external examiners for postgraduate theses, and confirmed the readiness of a number of postgraduate students to defend their theses. In addition, the Council initiated the procedures for scheduling the official dates of their public thesis defenses.
On another matter, the Council approved the continuation of procedures related to the development of the College’s scientific journal and ratified the new composition of its Editorial Board, as part of the College’s efforts to enhance the quality of scholarly publishing and strengthen the journal’s standing in academic indexing and classification databases.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to providing a supportive academic environment for postgraduate students and to promoting scientific research in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Samarra, thereby contributing to the achievement of the College’s objectives and serving the wider community.
