University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Physical Education Organizes Seminar on Exam Anxiety

The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Samarra, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Exam Anxiety Among College Students,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Haider Sadiq Jaafar, in the presence of a number of college students.
During the seminar, the speaker addressed the concept of exam anxiety and its primary causes, including the accumulation of study material, inadequate preparation, fear of failure, pressure arising from expectations, and poor time-management skills.
Jaafar also explained the consequences associated with exam anxiety, including distraction, impaired concentration, and declining academic performance, in addition to various psychological and physical symptoms such as tension and increased heart rate.
He further highlighted several practical strategies to help students reduce exam-related anxiety, including effective time management, early preparation, adopting efficient study methods, practicing relaxation techniques, and strengthening self-confidence within a supportive educational environment.
