Samarra University implements an integrated program for water recycling and wastewater treatment
Samarra University announced the implementation of a comprehensive program for water recycling and wastewater management, within the framework of the global sustainability UI GreenMetric 2026. The program aims to enhance the efficiency of water resource use, protect the environment, and reduce reliance on fresh water. The system relies on advanced treatment technologies including: primary treatment via mechanical separation, secondary biological treatment, tertiary and advanced treatment, in addition to filtration and sterilization systems. It is mentioned that the sanitation infrastructure at the university is connected to the sanitation project in Samarra under the supervision of the General Directorate of Sanitation.
