University of Samarra Achieves Significant Growth in Academic Courses

The University of Samarra has recorded a remarkable expansion in its educational programs in recent years, with the number of courses offered rising from 99 in 2024 to 106 in 2025, and reaching 155 in 2026, marking a growth rate of 46.2%.

The university explained that this expansion was driven by strategic steps, most notably the establishment of the Computer Science Department, which added 49 specialized courses in digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and green computing. In addition, new postgraduate programs were launched in the College of Administration and Economics, and evening study tracks were opened in the IT department to maximize the efficient use of infrastructure such as labs and classrooms.

The university emphasized that this growth reflects its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and “Green Campus” standards, reinforcing its position as a leading academic institution in Iraq.
