University of Samarra Boosts Sustainability Research Output

The University of Samarra has reported 15 scholarly publications on sustainability during the 2025–2026 academic year, produced by a faculty of 1,208 lecturers and researchers, resulting in a ratio of 0.0124 publications per staff member.
The research portfolio covered diverse areas including renewable energy, wastewater bioremediation, well-water quality improvement using Fe3O4 nanoparticles, sustainable construction with hemp-lime composites, as well as studies on Industry 4.0 digital transformation and women’s empowerment as a pathway to social sustainability.
The university emphasized that all publications were featured in internationally recognized journals, reflecting its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This output represents a baseline for expanding green research tracks across Applied Sciences and Engineering, reinforcing the university’s standing in global rankings such as UI GreenMetric.
