University of Samarra connects its network to the central sewage project to enhance environmental sustainability

The University of Samarra announced the integration of its network project with the city’s sewage system, implemented under the supervision of the General Directorate of Sewage. The project covers an area of 50 acres and includes networks for heavy water and rainwater drainage, conveyor lines, and lifting stations linked to the central treatment plant with a design capacity of 56,000 m³.

The university explained that the Samarra Sewage Company is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the sewer networks to ensure efficient drainage, with a commitment to emptying sewage through treatment plants or, when necessary, direct discharge into watercourses.

This initiative is part of the university’s vision to strengthen environmental sustainability, improve infrastructure and public services, and provide a healthier and more sustainable campus environment.
