University of Samarra enhances its programs in inorganic waste treatment and launches awareness initiatives

The University of Samarra announced its success in treating inorganic waste produced this year, which amounted to 95 tons, through reuse and recycling methods that included paper, hard plastics, and soft plastics, in cooperation with the Samarra Municipality and several local companies.
The university explained that these efforts are part of a strategy based on sorting and processing to achieve up to 99% efficiency.

It further clarified that its programs include collecting plastic, glass, metal, paper, digital, and medical waste, and delivering them to treatment areas for recycling or reuse, alongside launching awareness campaigns under the title Green Programs to encourage students and the community to classify waste.

In the same context, the university’s colleges organized scientific seminars on solid and hazardous waste management and launched awareness campaigns on Green Education and environmental sustainability, stressing that these initiatives reflect its commitment to reducing the negative impact of waste and strengthening the role of educational institutions in serving the community and sustainable development.
