The rector of the University of Samarra announces the establishment of evening studies in the Department of Computer Science at the College of Applied Sciences for the academic year 2025–2026

The rector of the University of Samarra, Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Al-Samarrai, announced the introduction of the evening study program in the newly established Department of Computer Science at the College of Applied Sciences for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Dr. Al-Samarrai stated that the minimum admission grade for the evening program is 60, noting that graduates from the department will qualify to work as programmers upon graduation.

He added that this project represents an important step within the university’s plan to enable broader segments of society to pursue higher education—especially employees and graduates who wish to enhance their skills in the field of information technology. He explained that the university is continuously working to support its colleges in opening new horizons for evening education, in a way that contributes to community service and the achievement of sustainable development.

He emphasized that the establishment of the evening program in the Computer Science Department aligns with the growing demand in the labor market for technical professionals, programmers, and specialists in information security, networks, and artificial intelligence.

It is noteworthy that, with the establishment of the Computer Science Department in both morning and evening studies at the College of Applied Sciences, the total number of academic departments at the University of Samarra has reached 32, with ongoing efforts to create additional specialized departments.
