A professor from the Sharia department publishes a book on stem cells

 

Recently published by Nashiroon Foundation, a book by the assistant professor (Jinan Shaker Ali Al-Samarrai) entitled (Ruling on medical testimony from stem cells (ESC) in Islamic jurisprudence.

The researcher dealt with the ruling of the medical statement of stem cells, or what is scientifically known as ESC, and the nature of the study was epistemological by understanding the medical topic accurately and arranging the contemporary jurisprudential judgment for it after medicine recently discovered the therapeutic benefits of stem cells, it directed to treating intractable diseases, whether external or internal cells.

The Islamic Fiqh Academy, in its seventh session in 2003, dealt with medical studies on this topic and permitted it according to Sharia, because it is beneficial to humanity, but this is required to obtain the cells by legitimate means.

The researcher sought it because of the society’s need to clarify legal provisions for such medical developments.
