The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education at Samarra University discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Evaluation of the efficiency of some predators and plant extracts on the green aphid Mzus Persicae in the Ishaqi district,” presented by the student (Sarmad Younis Hassan), on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

The study was conducted on the green aphid, Myzus persicae Sulzer, due to the economic importance of this insect and its relationship to diseases affecting plants, where all the preliminary stages are found on the plant.

The results also showed the effect of water extracts on killing green aphids, M. persicae, and that the aqueous extract of ginger roots Z. officinale caused the highest killing rate, as the most increased mortality was 276. % at the highest used concentration of 1 mg/ml after five days of treatment
