A professor at Samarra University publishes research in renewable energy in a journal indexed in Scopus.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ismail Alawi, a teaching staff member at the College of Engineering, Samarra University, published a joint scientific research paper in the (International Journal of Heat and Technology) classified in the third quartile (Q3) within the Scopus database.
The research was titled \”Numerical Analysis and Performance Evaluation of a Hybrid Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine of Savonius-Darius Type with Leaf-Shaped Blades,\” in which the researchers worked on presenting an advanced study to improve the efficiency of wind energy conversion in urban environments by integrating the two technologies (Savonius & Darrieus) with mechanical modeling and (CFD) simulation simulating the atmosphere of Baghdad city.
The results proved the superiority of the three-stage hybrid model with blades, recording a power output of up to 416 watts and an electrical efficiency of 78.2%, which enhances the opportunities for its investment in harvesting sustainable energy within cities.
In turn, the Media and Government Communication Department at the Rectorship of Samarra University congratulates the teaching staff member at the College of Engineering on his new scientific output, wishing him continued success in his research career.
