Laboratory Experiments at the College of Agriculture to Introduce Students to the Germination Process

The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering at the College of Agriculture, Samarra University, organized laboratory experiments as part of the practical component of the Plant Breeding course. The experiments were conducted in the college’s laboratories under the supervision of Dr. Mona Ayed Youssef, the course instructor.

The primary objective of these experiments was to familiarize students with the scientific fundamentals of experimentation while encouraging and motivating them to develop their knowledge and skills in the agricultural field and hands-on fieldwork.

During the experiments, students planted a variety of seeds using germination sheets to observe and understand the steps of the germination process and monitor seed growth.

Additionally, these experiments help students enhance their research and analytical skills, allowing them to gain a more precise understanding of plant breeding strategies.

It is worth noting that these experiments are part of the practical applications of Agricultural Engineering Sciences courses, complementing the theoretical knowledge taught in classrooms.
