A faculty member at the University of Samarra publishes her first book on the impacts of normalization with the Zionist entity in Arab media channels

Recently published by Nashirun Publishing House, Assistant Lecturer Sarwa Madin Muhammad from the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra has released her first book titled “A Comparative Study of the Impacts of Normalization with the Zionist Entity in Arab Media Channels: A Case Study of Al-Hadath and Afaq Channels.”

The study aimed to examine the effects of normalization as presented by Al-Hadath and Afaq channels, comparing them using a qualitative analysis method of the news published on the official websites of both channels. The channels are notably different in their media work, particularly in their news reporting style, broadcasting approach, and how they present detailed or summarized news narratives and explanations.

The study found that Al-Hadath focused on promoting values of tolerance, dialogue, and coexistence with the Zionist entity, highlighting efforts to foster peace and relations between the Zionist entity and Arab countries. In contrast, Afaq emphasized rejecting normalization, opting for concise and intense news reporting. Both channels employed methods to influence public awareness concerning normalization events.

The Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates Assistant Lecturer Sarwa Madin on her first publication and wishes her continued success in her academic career in media studies.
