The College of Agriculture at the University of Samarra organized a workshop titled “The Harmful Effects of Radioactive Pollution on the Environment,” presented by Ms. Zainab Nabil Salim and Ms. Dumaya Hussein Ali, employees of the college.

The two lecturers aimed to raise public awareness about the dangers of environmental pollutants, including toxic gases, radioactive materials on surfaces or within solids, liquids, or gases, as well as ash, smoke, and dust, and their harmful effects on the environment and humans.

The lectures clarified the concept of radioactive pollution, its causes, sources, and types, as well as the impact of exposure to radioactive pollutants and their effects on the environment.

The presenters recommended paying attention to preventive methods against pollutants, early intervention to reduce them, and enhancing scientific awareness to encourage researchers to find scientific solutions to mitigate the negative effects on the environment.
