A seminar at the College of Applied Sciences educates on the role of women in society in facing challenges
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized an educational seminar titled “The Role of Women in Society and the Challenges They Face,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Haneen Khaled Naji and Mr. Mohammed Salah Taha.
The seminar organizers aimed to promote the principle of social stability that women contribute to, highlighting their roles in economic, social, and political fields, and working to ensure women’s rights to education and employment.
Naji explained the importance of ensuring women’s rights through the healthcare they provide to enhance public health and improve health standards, as well as guaranteeing their legal rights to protect their status and strengthen their political role.
For his part, Taha recommended the importance of elevating women’s status in education, providing job opportunities, combating domestic violence and gender discrimination, protecting their rights, and enhancing women’s mental health.
It is noteworthy that the seminar was organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Human Rights Unit at the College of Applied Sciences, in implementation of ministerial directives emphasizing the promotion of women’s role in society.
