At the invitation of the Al Jazeera Media Institute, the President of the University of Samarra participates in the activities of the “Artificial Intelligence in Media” conference

The Al Jazeera Media Institute, affiliated with the Al Jazeera Network, hosted Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Al-Samarrai (President of the University of Samarra) and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mouloud Fadel (Head of the Media Department) at the College of Arts of the university during the activities of the “Al Jazeera Conference: Artificial Intelligence in Media,” held on the 11th and 12th of this month in Doha.

The conference included prominent figures in the field of communication and media technology from esteemed international, regional, and Arab institutions. Dr. Al-Samarrai attended the event as a guest of honor, alongside a group of inspiring academic elites.

The invitation came as a result of the collaboration recently initiated between the University of Samarra and the institute, focusing on the importance of training students in pioneering fields and preparing them for the workforce, including artificial intelligence. The Ministry of Higher Education had recently recommended integrating artificial intelligence into computer science curricula for university students in Iraq.

It is worth noting that the visit included efforts to build bridges of cooperation in several areas, particularly emphasizing the importance of providing the university with the latest updates in communication and media technology as well as technical computer skills.
