College of Law Organizes Awareness Seminar on Student Discipline Law
The College of Law at the University of Samarra organized an awareness seminar for its students on the “Student Discipline Law.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Dhamin Mahdi and Lecturer Samih Saeed Raheem, both faculty members at the college.
The presenters aimed to educate and guide students on the provisions of Student Discipline Law No. (160 of 2007), as amended by Instructions No. (169 of 2018).
Dr. Dhamin discussed the legal regulations and directives related to student discipline, emphasizing the importance of adhering to internal rules and ministerial orders, and avoiding behavior that contradicts university ethics. He stressed that any violation of this law could subject students to legal penalties, including potential expulsion from the university.
In the same context, Mr. Saeed outlined the prohibitions imposed on students within the university campus, while also reviewing and explaining the relevant legal articles to the students.
It is worth noting that the penalties imposed on students who violate the Student Discipline Law range from a warning to permanent dismissal from studies, depending on the nature of the violation, as determined by the Student Discipline Committees.
