Joint Training Course Between the University and Samarra Hospital on Biochemical Markers for Breast Cancer
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a joint training seminar with Samarra General Hospital titled “Breast Cancer and Important Biochemical Markers for Early Diagnosis and the Importance of Breast Self-Examination.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Tawfiq Saleh, Dr. Luay Ali Dhahi (both faculty members at the college), and Dr. Bidaya Tawfiq Muhimid (from Samarra Hospital).
The organizers aimed to highlight the importance of early detection of breast cancer, its role in determining treatment types, assessing tumor response to therapy, and monitoring post-treatment cases. The seminar explained certain biochemical markers used in diagnosing the disease and their significance, as well as how to perform breast self-examinations and their role in early detection.
The speakers recommended regular testing for specific biochemical markers crucial for early breast cancer detection and emphasized the importance of breast self-examination due to its effective role in early tumor detection and improving treatment outcomes.
These awareness programs aim to enhance collaboration between the university and state institutions related to pure scientific specialties, especially medical fields, due to their extensive service to the community.
