The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a workshop titled “How to Protect Our Rights,” presented by a group of faculty members from the Department of Creed and Islamic Thought. The lecturers aimed to discuss mechanisms for protecting human rights and methods to enhance social awareness, especially regarding laws that safeguard these rights.
Human rights are fundamental to a dignified life that every individual in society should enjoy, whether on a personal, social, economic, or political level. The workshop focused on clarifying the concept of human rights and outlining the various types of these rights across different classifications, in addition to discussing the challenges faced in their protection.
The lecturers emphasized that protecting human rights is a collective responsibility requiring cooperation among individuals, society, and all state institutions, especially educational institutions. They also highlighted the necessity of understanding the laws related to human rights protection.
It is noted that individuals in various societies face numerous challenges related to their rights, particularly with the continuous development in all fields of life, which necessitates knowledge of how to protect these rights.
