Two faculty members from the University of Samarra published a book on international relations between Pakistan and Jordan.
Dr. Hanan Mahmoud Abdulrahim (faculty member in the History Department at the College of Education) and Assistant Professor Dr. Bakr Abdulmajid Mohammed (faculty member in the History Department at the College of Arts) have published a book titled “Jordanian-Pakistani Relations 1948-1974” through Dar Nashiroun in Iraq.
The authors aimed to clarify the relationship between Pakistan and Jordan, focusing on diplomatic representation at the ambassadorial level and the role of Pakistani officers in training the Jordanian army. Abdulrahim examined the events and positions both countries experienced, including Pakistan’s role in the Arab-Israeli war and the involvement of Pakistani officers in training Jordan’s air force, along with Pakistan’s stance during “Black September.”
Meanwhile, Abdulmajid explored Jordan’s position since Pakistan’s establishment and recognition, as well as Jordan’s stance on the Pakistan-India wars concerning the Kashmir region.
The book also delves into the Jordanian and Pakistani positions on the “Baghdad Pact,” Pakistan’s stance on the 1967 setback, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, shared positions between the two countries, and the Karachi Conference, including its key recommendations and Jordan’s position.
It is noteworthy that Professor Dr. Zohair Qasim Mohammed (Assistant President of the University of Samarra for Administrative Affairs) actively reviewed the book and ensured attention to all its details.
