Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Holds a Meeting with the Graduate Research Examination Committee
Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, Vice Rector of the University for Scientific Affairs, held a meeting in his office with the members of the Graduate Research Examination Committee across the university’s colleges, covering the period from 2022 to the present.
The committee included the directors of the Graduate Studies Department and the Missions and Cultural Relations Department, alongside a group of university professors holding high academic ranks in various pure and human sciences, who possess extensive expertise in reputable scientific journals.
During the meeting, the attendees discussed the possibility of allowing graduate students to proceed with their thesis defense based solely on an acceptance for publication in a peer-reviewed, reputable scientific journal accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In the same context, the committee decided not to issue the university decree for students who have defended their theses until their research is officially published in the journals from which they received the acceptance.
It is worth noting that this committee focuses on the publication of graduate students’ research in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Additionally, it is tasked with monitoring reputable and accredited journals to prevent any issues students might face following their defense.
