A Training Course at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Demonstrates the Fundamentals and Techniques of Water Treatment in Industrial Processes

The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Samarra, organized a scientific training course titled “Fundamentals and Techniques of Water Treatment in Industrial Processes,” presented by Assist. Lect. Huda Matar Ibrahim.

Huda aimed to focus on the scientific principles adopted in industrial water treatment and to illustrate the primary treatment stages, which include the removal of suspended solids, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. Additionally, the course introduced the most prominent modern technologies used to ensure water quality and efficiency within the industrial sector.

The lecturer highlighted the key technologies utilized in this field, such as membrane technologies (Reverse Osmosis, Nanofiltration, and Ultrafiltration), ion exchange, biological treatment, thermal processes, and advanced oxidation. Emphasis was placed on their roles in reducing pollutants, protecting equipment, and achieving environmental sustainability.

In the same context, the presenter recommended the implementation of effective systems for boiler water, cooling water, and industrial process water, noting their significant impact on increasing production efficiency, reducing operational costs, and preserving water resources and the environment.
