Establishing 7 colleges and 20 departments and branches in the Iraqi universities in preparation for the 2020/2021 academic year

Under the Plan for the upcoming academic year 2020/2021 and in preparation to absorb the increase in the number of high school graduates and a diagnosis of the scientific requirements imposed by community service contexts, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the creation of 20 departments, branches and seven new colleges in fifteen universities in various regions of our country.

To raise the level of educational services in conjunction with the compact education programs that will enable our institutions to expand their capacities, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, approved the creation of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala, the College of Information Technology, the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy and the College of Law At Nineveh University, the Technical College / Shatra at the Southern Technical University, and the Health and Medical Technical College at the Northern Technical University.

At the level of departments and branches, the Department of Oil and Gas Economics and Project Management has been created in Basra University for Oil and Gas, the Accounting Department at the College of Administration and Economics at Sumer University, the Department of Health Management Technologies at the Technical Institute / Diwaniyah, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques in the Technical Institute / Samawah at the Middle Euphrates Technical University and the Department of Islamic Education in College of Basic Education, Department of Physics at the College of Education at the University of Maysan, Department of Statistics and Informatics Techniques in the Technical College / Mosul, Department of Legal Management in the Technical Institute / Al-Dur, Power Plants and Renewable Energy Technologies Branch, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology Department at the Technical College of Engineering / Kirkuk, Northern Technical University, and Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering In the Engineering Technical College / Baghdad, the Medical Laboratory Department at the Technical Institute / Essaouira at the Central Technical University, the Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science at Al-Karkh University of Science, the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at the Iraqi University, the Economics Department, the Accounting Department at the College of Management and Economics at the University of Babylon, and the Department of Biotechnology in the College of Applied Science at University of Samarra and the Communications and Electronic Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at Al-Muthanna University.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research renews the commitment and readiness of all its university institutions to receive the students in the High school studies for the new academic year that will start on the sixth of next December.
