The Minister of Higher Education chairs an important meeting to discuss the requirements of the admission plan in Iraqi universities

 

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, chaired an important meeting for the two departments and sections of studies, planning, following-up, and private education to discuss the requirements of the admission plan in Iraqi universities for the academic year 2021/2020.

In the presence of the Undersecretary for Scientific Research and Head of the Supervisory Authority, the minister affirmed the necessity for public universities to adapt in morning and evening studies, as well as private universities and colleges in light of their plans necessary to accommodate the outputs of the high school study and the increase in numbers resulting from the natural population growth and to cover this increase through fulfilling treatments and innovations that suitable conditions.

He called for the importance of integration by working between the relevant departments, especially the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up and the Department of Private Education, setting standards that achieve societal justice in admissions, ensuring that laws and instructions are strictly applied, adhering to timelines and not exceeding it, which gives the community confidence in its institutions and not working with exceptions out of respect for those who worked hard and achieved real results that the student is proud of and society and the need to reduce wages for universities and private colleges, taking into account the circumstances of the current stage, indicating that the Ministry and its staff can develop treatments at the level of scientific, administrative and legal dimensions.

He added that the approaches of consideration and treatment approved by the Ministry of Higher Education take into consideration all the variables and challenges, including high rates, health, economic, societal, and technical challenges, stressing at the same time on developing positive plans and visions to reduce the impact of these challenges through integration between the Legislature and the Executive authorities and unions.

The meeting discussed the launch of the student guide, the follow-up of the technical aspects and the timings for submission, the announcement of the results, and the date of student registration in light of the times of the university calendar.
