The top 100 nominees, shortlisted from a long list based on award evaluation criteria, were announced, and ambitious and transformative projects that address local and global challenges through a comprehensive understanding of context were highlighted.

It is noteworthy that the official sponsor of the competition is Coventry University sponsors Tamayuz Excellence Award, the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan, Kufa – Makiya Charity, Dewan Architects + Engineers, Ayad Al-Tuhafi Architects, Bonair Ltd, Ecodemia.org.uk, the United Nations Global Compact – Iraq Network and Round City, an internationally recognized independent and politically affiliated body dedicated to supporting ambitious projects.

For his part, Mr. Ali Majed said that the project is a graduation project for the Department of Architecture / College of Engineering for the last academic year 2021/2020 AD.
The project deals with the development of the northern area of the city of Samarra in a sustainable manner and a practical solution to the problem of the current urban planning in the city, which is vertically away from the Tigris River. The development came by exploiting the longitudinal axis parallel to the river, which is undoubtedly the best axis for the growth and development of the city.
