Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Chairs a Meeting with the Central solid-Sobriety Committee

Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, Vice Rector of the University for Scientific Affairs, chaired a meeting in his office which included the directors of the Departments of Scientific Affairs, Graduate Studies, Quality Assurance, and Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Rectorship

The attendees discussed the mechanism for auditing research papers submitted by graduate students (Master’s and PhD) at the university from 2022 until the current year.

For his part, Kamal emphasized directing supervising professors to urge their students to publish in reputable scientific journals, both local and international, that are indexed within high-level databases, especially those accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In the same context, the Scientific Vice Rector directed the formation of auditing committees within the colleges.
These committees will be responsible for auditing and following up on graduate students’ research and submitting them, after meeting the requirements, to the Central Sobriety Committee at the University Rectorship.

Furthermore, the meeting participants reached an agreement on establishing a mechanism for receiving “sobriety requests” from graduate students, as well as adopting a method for verifying the authenticity of publication acceptance in journals, which will be handled by the Central Sobriety Committee through direct correspondence with the scientific journals.
