Vice President for Scientific Affairs Chairs Meeting to Discuss Study Leave During Employment
Professor Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, chaired an extensive meeting in his office, which included the Director of the Graduate Studies Department at the University Presidency and the Associate Deans for Scientific Affairs from the colleges. The meeting was held to discuss the Ministry’s regulations regarding study leave during employment and to identify eligible university staff for such leaves.
The participants discussed the rules and conditions for pursuing studies during employment or at personal expense within Iraq, according to Law No. 20 of 2020. This included general principles, timelines, application procedures, as well as general conditions and criteria for prioritization.
The Vice President emphasized the importance of the subcommittee at the University Presidency and the need to cooperate with it to follow up on applications submitted by university staff and affiliated institutions for study leave during employment, ensuring they comply with the standards and conditions set by the Ministry’s regulations.
In turn, the attendees explained the mechanisms they employed in their respective colleges to review the candidates’ forms, examine each case to ensure it aligned with the instructions before sending it to the University Presidency, and assess the colleges’ plans based on their specific needs for certain specializations.
