Scientific Seminar on Enhancing Water Desalination and Purification Technologies

The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra held a scientific seminar titled “Enhancing and Improving Water Desalination and Purification Processes,” presented by Assistant Lecturers Miqdad Kasay Hussein and Ahmed Mawlood Taha, both faculty members in the Department of Applied Chemistry. The seminar aimed to advance research in current water purification technologies.

The discussion focused on the most important modern and innovative techniques to reduce costs, improve the quality of water produced at desalination plants, and increase energy efficiency in desalination processes.

The lecturers recommended allocating more resources for research and development in water desalination technologies and encouraging the integration of renewable energy sources into desalination plants to reduce fossil fuel use and limit environmental pollutants.

This seminar is part of the university’s broader programs aligned with the Cabinet’s recommendations on reducing emissions and highlights the university’s role in raising community awareness about clean energy use.
