The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Conducts a Workshop on the Relationship Between Body Types and Nutrition
The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Samarra held a workshop titled “The Relationship Between Body Types and Nutrition.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturers Ammar Fares Atiya and Mohammed Abdulsalam Fadhel, both faculty members at the college.
The presenters aimed to clarify human diversity in terms of size and shape, defining the concept of body types as a key to understanding individual differences between physiques. They also discussed variations in physiological composition, as well as genetic and environmental factors influencing individual health and fitness.
The workshop outlined the classification of body types into three main categories: the ectomorph, characterized by a slim build and a tall frame; the mesomorph, combining strength and balance; and the endomorph, which tends to store fat more easily.
The lecturers emphasized the importance of understanding these body types for guiding individuals toward appropriate nutritional plans and exercise regimens tailored to their needs, ultimately contributing to more effectively achieving health and fitness goals.
