Two Faculty Members at the University of Samarra Publish a Joint Paper in Civil Engineering in a Scopus-Indexed Journal
Dr. Hadeel Riyad Khattab and Assistant Lecturer Israa Khalil Jassim (the two faculty members) from the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra have published a joint research paper in the International Review of Civil Engineering journal, which is classified as Q3 in the Scopus index.
The research is titled “Experimental Study of the Behavior of Self-Compacting Concrete Slabs Reinforced with Fibers under Impact Loads.”
The researchers aimed to study the behavior of self-compacting concrete reinforced with either steel or nylon fibers in slabs subjected to static and dynamic loads.
The research findings showed a significant improvement in the compressive and tensile strength of the concrete compared to the reference fiber-free concrete, as well as improved impact resistance. Additionally, it was found that the concrete reinforced with steel fibers exhibited better properties than that reinforced with nylon fibers.
On behalf of the University of Samarra, the Department of Media and Government Communications congratulates the researchers on their scientific achievement and wishes them continued success in their academic careers.
