The College of Applied Sciences Organizes an Educational Seminar on Dental Health

The Department of Applied Chemistry at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, organized an educational seminar on “Dental Health and Its Impact on Human Psychological Well-being,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul-Salam Tawfiq Saleh.

The seminar speaker discussed the influence of dental health and appearance on psychological well-being, as well as the significant impact that dental appearance has on an individual’s social, psychological, and professional interactions. Additionally, people with healthy teeth are often perceived as more socially competent.

Dr. Tawfiq concluded that an individual is significantly influenced in social and psychological aspects by the aesthetics of their teeth. Furthermore, in modern times, young people are increasingly pursuing health-related luxuries, particularly in dental health, and are often inclined toward unnecessary cosmetic dental treatments. This underscores the need for dental specialists to promote more public awareness programs to educate society on the beauty of a natural smile.
