A Faculty Member at Samarra University Publishes Scientific Research in Scopus

Assoc. Prof. Dr. (Marwan Qahtan Jassim), a faculty member at the College of Applied Sciences, Samarra University, has published a scientific research paper in the journal of the (American Institute of Physics), which is published in the United States of America and classified within the fourth quartile (Q4) in the Scopus database.

The research was titled \”Molecular Detection of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs) in Renal Failure Patients in Saladin Governorate.\” It aimed to study the genetic polymorphism of the \”SOD1\” gene in renal failure patients in Saladin Governorate and compare the genetic distribution of these sites with a healthy control group, in addition to evaluating the role of oxidative stress and its relationship with genetic changes in the development of renal failure.

The results showed the presence of significant differences in the distribution of genotypes for the \”SOD1\” gene between the patient group and the control group; it was also found that certain genotypes were more common among renal failure patients.

For its part, the Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates the Assistant Dean of the College of Applied Sciences for Scientific Affairs on his new scientific achievement, wishing him continued success in his academic and research career.
