A research team from the College of Education at the University of Samarra has published a joint scientific paper in the International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics, classified in the third quartile (Q3) of Scopus’ indexing categories.

The study, titled “Response of Lepidium sativum to Different Light Stress Intensities”, was co-authored by Prof. Dr. Ghassan Faris Atiya, Associate Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hakim, and Dr. Omar Naji Ali.

The researchers aimed in their study to analyze a range of enrichment data concerning the chemophysiological responses of a leafy plant exposed to varying levels of light stress, in addition to hydrogen peroxide concentrations. Hydrogen peroxide represents the primary cellular secretion associated with abiotic stress, particularly light stress.

The researchers highlighted the detrimental effects of high light stress intensities on plant metabolism, specifically the increase in “H2O2” levels and the decline in photosynthetic activity.

The Media and Government Communication Department congratulates the research team on their scientific achievement, wishing them continued success in their academic endeavors.
